Today is World Water Day – a day set aside to focus on the basic human need of clean, safe drinking water. Today we can make decisions that will effect people around the globe. It’s never too late to join in the campaign to bring life to so many without access to clean drinking water.
It’s been almost a year from the Walk for Clean Water and we’re not done yet! I’ve got two exciting announcements coming up. First, a quick update…
After raising over $22k so far, we have built three wells (with a fourth coming soon!). If you didn’t see the info about those wells you can find it here and here. You have helped make a difference in over 500 people’s lives so far!
And now for the two big announcements!
Water Walk – Sat. May 4th
On May 4th, Jessica and I will be joining the Water Walk in Mt Horeb, Wis. This 2.5k walk will have us walking to a river to collect water and returning back to try to understand, if just a little, what the journey is like for the millions who take it every day for their needed water. I want to invite you to participate! I would love if you would like to join us for the walk. If you are not available to join, perhaps you’d be willing to donate to the cause. We are so close to the $25k mark at which point we’ll be able to build another well and help a community of hundreds more.
Traveling to Build a Well
The other big announcement: Later this year (early-mid Dec) I will be traveling to Central America to help on a well drill. I will be joining a team to go and assist the nationals as they bring clean water to a community. As a photographer, I desire to be able to document the people, the stories and the process and share that with you.
And… I WANT TO INVITE YOU TO JOIN ME! If you are at all interested in being part of a trip that gets to participate and witness a lifesaving change in people’s lives, please drop me a line at [email protected]. I would love for others to be able to participate in this way!
So Happy Water Day to you. I encourage you to make a difference in someone’s life by participating with me in one of the above ways. I would be so honored.
